Description
Bromelain Enzyme (2400 GDU) is made from the ananas comosus fruit. The fruit itself is one of the most nutrient rich, as it contains almost all of vitamins and 16 different minerals that humans need. The product made from the whole pineapples fruit has a light yellow or grey appearance and a pineapple enzyme-specific odor.
The term bromelain can refer to two protease enzymes extracted from the plants of the family Bromeliaceae, or it may refer to a combination of those enzymes along with other compounds produced in an extract.
Digestion
The enzymes aid digestion by breaking down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids. This can enhance the digestion of dietary proteins and may be beneficial for individuals with digestive disorders, such as bloating from protein malabsorption from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Wound Healing
Bromelain enzyme has been studied for its potential in promoting wound healing. It may accelerate the healing process by reducing swelling, edema, skin burns, and by supporting the breakdown of damaged tissue.
Anti-Inflammatory
The pineapple enzymes are known for the potent anti-inflammatory effects. It works by modulating inflammatory pathways and reducing the production of inflammatory molecules. This makes bromelain a valuable supplement for individuals dealing with inflammatory conditions, such as arthritis.
Asthma, Allergy, and Sinusitis
Bromelain ability to reduce mucus and inflammation supports respiratory health conditions. This may be useful for individuals with conditions like asthma, bronchitis, allergies, nasal congestion, and allergic rhinitis. It may alleviate symptoms of sinusitis by reducing inflammation and thinning mucus.
Joints
Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, Premium pineapple bromelain may provide relief for individuals with joint pain, sports injuries, and arthritis. It can help reduce inflammation in the joints, potentially improving mobility and decreasing discomfort associated with inflammatory joint conditions, such as osteoarthritis.
Heart
The ability of the enzyme to reduce inflammation and improve blood flow may have positive effects on circulatory health. It may also contribute to cardiovascular health by reducing the risk of blood clots and promoting overall vascular function. As it is an inhibitor of blood platelet aggregation and by this reduce the risk of arterial thrombosis and embolism.
Potentially Antitumor
Some studies have explored bromelain’s potential anti-cancer properties. It may inhibit cancer cell growth and promote apoptosis, the programmed cell death of cancer cells, although more research is needed in this area.
Immune System
Bromelain has immune-modulating properties, which may support overall immune system function. It may enhance the activity of immune cells and contribute to a more robust immune response.
Suggested use
Take 500 mg to 1,500 mg daily preferably with some food. A quarter (1/4) of a teaspoon is about 0.5 to 1 gram.
